ROAD TRAFFIC OFFENCES

THE ROAD TRAFFIC (AMENDMENT) ACT 2015

Cumulative Road Traffic Offences

Full list of offences & fines

There are over 204 traffic offences currently active in Mauritius (see Full list of offences & fines above). Of those 204 offences only a handful (detailed below) will result in you being disqualified and your driving licence being suspended or cancelled (consult main page for more information about suspension/cancellation).

Many traffic offences that are considered minor are usually accompanied by a small fine (Rs 500). There are those, however, that are considered as serious road traffic offences putting your security and that of others on the roads in peril. Such offences usually carry a higher fine (Rs >1000 to a maximum of Rs 100,000).

This section of this website will also describe the Cumulative Road Traffic Offences, fines and list the sanctions provided in the Road Traffic Act of Mauritius.
